How Mercy Changes Everything [Five Minute Friday]
Hey my friends,
Iiiiiiiit’s FRIDAY! It’s my son Isaac’s birthday!
(Okay, it’s actually Thursday night and praise the LORD for Lisa-Jo who’s releasing the prompt a couple hours earlier these days. Woooo!)
But anyway. If FMF is new to you, here’s the drill:
5 minutes. 1 word. No editing. Be creative. Or just write your guts.
Annnnnd, here I go. The word this week is:
One of my all-time favorite characteristics of God.
New every morning.
Softens my heart when it’s hard; melts it when it’s cold.
Draws me back to His heart over. and over. and over.
I need it daily. Hourly. Like oxygen. No, MORE than oxygen.
Covers my heart, bathes me, makes me clean.
Gives me a new identity.
Beloved. Chosen. Desired. Ransomed. Beautiful. Righteous.
I belong now. Accepted in the beloved.
Mercy gives me confidence before God.
Confidence to approach the throne of grace.
Confidence to come in close to His heart, where I’m just undone every. single. time.
Oh, the GOSPEL. The crazy, scandalous extravagance of His mercy.
His mercy that captures and captivates and woos and changes everything.
Know someone who'd appreciate this?
